My beautiful mum Miryam -the sun and heart of my life — passed away peacefully on Friday, 19th February at 23:58 (5:58am Spanish time).At 84 years old, she simply had no more strength left to fight another diagnosis of bone cancer. The past few months have been incredibly hard. She was in so much pain, and each day she grew more tired. All she wanted in the end was peace — no more treatments, no more suffering — just rest.I travelled home to be with my brothers, because that was her only request. She always asked me , “Please look after my boys. Don’t abandon them when I’m gone.” We said goodbye yesterday afternoon. Seeing so many people come to honour her, to share stories, tears, and prayers, was deeply comforting. It reminded us how many lives she touched.My mum was strength wrapped in kindness. She carried so much on her shoulders, yet she always smiled. She was always singing, always praying, always thinking of others before herself. She protected, she nurtured, she gave — endlessly. Her faith was unshakeable, and her heart was pure.I will be taking a few days away from media and the computer until next week, to allow myself the space to feel and process everything. I have been holding my emotions inside to stay strong and continue my work, but now I need a little time.I will be working from home over the next few weeks.
